1st Level Service Desk Engineer (Guildford MSP)
£17,000 - £18,000 Per Annum (Subject to Experience)
An entry level opportunity has arisen for my client’s MSP business within their technical services team.
Due to continued growth, a role has been newly created for a further team member. The role benefits from having a small yet well-established team to support and mentor the successful candidate, providing a real opportunity for personal development and attaining the next level of technical expertise, whilst delivering exceptional IT services to my clients’ customers.
If not previously working within a technical role for an IT support business, value added reseller or managed services provider, the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate commitment to develop their career through undertaking training or work experience. Additionally, suitable candidates could currently be working on a service desk or have gained work experience on a services desk as part of a IT Apprenticeship (such as Zenos Academy, Just IT or QA), without the possibility of visiting customer sites in their current role or could be already at the mixed service desk and onsite level, yet unable to break into the role full time.
In addition to the salary the package for this role includes a custom training package (Apprenticeship through MCSA) based on candidates starting level.
The successful candidate will have shown dedication to their professional development by achieving industry recognised qualifications such as CompTIA accreditations or Microsoft MSP and be planning to achieve an MCSE and have direct experience of working with common MSP tools and technologies, such as Autotask, ConnectWise, Kaseya, Zendesk, VMware, AWS, Azure and Office 365.
The role will include working with and therefore requires experience of;
- Server platforms including Windows 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016 & SBS (entry level skills only)
- Desktop platforms including Windows 7, 10 and MAC Operating Systems
- Active Directory, DNS & GPOs
- Office 365
- Networking, switching, VPNs and Firewalls
- Backup and Business Continuity including Datto
Although based at my clients' office near Guildford, travel to customer sites in London and surrounding area is required in time, so a full, clean driving license and access to own car is essential.
Finally, as the core link between my client and their customers, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills, to represent my client’s business with professionalism whilst building trust and confidence with their customers.
