3rd Level Technical Consultant (London & South MSP, home based)
£38,000 - £45,000 Per Annum (Subject to Experience + On-call & Overtime)
My Staffordshire-based, Microsoft Gold Partner MSP client is growing their southern team of technical and commercial home-based staff, who enjoy flexible working from home with travel to customer sites and monthly two-day-with-overnight visits to the HQ team.
The successful candidate should have worked previously within a technical role for an IT support business, value added reseller or managed services provider, and aspiring to develop their career and skills by expanding their work experience to the next level. Suitable candidates will already work in a service desk environment and have some onsite and possibly project level exposure and now seeking to develop their technical experience further (subject to current level).
The successful candidate will have shown dedication to their professional development by achieving industry recognised qualifications such as CompTIA accreditations or Microsoft MCP / MCSE and have direct experience of working with common MSP tools and technologies, such as Autotask, ConnectWise, Kaseya, Zendesk, VMware, AWS, Azure and Office 365.
Additionally to basic salary, on-call payments and overtime; A comprehensive training programme will be designed during your probationary period and will be reviewed every 6 months. Training will comprise vendor-partner training, formal training towards accreditations with partners such as Microsoft, VMware and Citrix, and shadowing with other technicians.
My clients' customers range from small start-ups to multi-national companies with hundreds of users, in business sectors ranging from manufacturing to healthcare & professional services, offering an infinite number technologies and configurations to manage & implement and therefore requires at minimum experience of working with;
- Diagnosing and resolving IT issues with Microsoft Windows 7, 8 and 10, Microsoft Office 2010, 2013, 2016 or other Support over phone, remote and onsite.
- Implementation/Migration/Administration of Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 server including: Active directory, DHCP, DNS, NTFS permissions, DFS
- Implementation/Migration/Administration of security products such Firewalls, AV & Anti-Spam Solutions
- Implementation/Migration/Administration of Office 365 / Exchange Server
- Respond to escalated tickets and identify and implement solutions
- Liaise with 3rd party vendors
- Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures & products
- Create and update technical documentation and manuals
- Manage and maintain internal and client backup processes
- Plan and oversee projects
Given travel requirements candidates should be with easy access to London via trains/tubes in addition to holding a full driving license with access to vehicle for travel to customer sites and monthly HQ visits.
Finally, as the core link between my client and their customers, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.
